BPoC × Cocoa Dreams — Copenhagen Screening

BPoC is proud to support the Copenhagen screening of Cocoa Dreams, a feature film by international filmmaker, producer, director and writer Jinna Mutune Odede.

Set in Muhoroni, Kenya, Cocoa Dreams follows Jaber, a nuclear physicist who returns home following her grandmother's death and discovers that she is the sole custodian of her family's sugar farm.

As Jaber attempts to transform the farm into a cocoa plantation, her vision brings unresolved family tensions to the surface. The story explores the complexities of inheritance, gender equality, land ownership, environmental responsibility, tradition and the difficult choices that come with carrying a family legacy forward.

The film invites audiences to consider a deeply human question: What does it really mean to inherit a legacy?
