A Year of Growth, Community, and Gratitude: Reflections on 2024

As we approach the end of 2024, we at the Brotherhood for Professionals of Color (BPoC) are filled with immense gratitude and pride for an extraordinary year. This has been a year of firsts, breakthroughs, and collaboration—all made possible by the collective effort of our members, partners, and sponsors.

Under my stewardship as the inaugural president, and supported by the tireless contributions of the board members, we have laid the foundation for a future of sustained growth and impact. Their unwavering leadership, creativity, and dedication have been the driving force behind our achievements, shaping BPoC into a dynamic and forward-thinking organization. Together, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that our mission of empowering professionals of color remains at the forefront of everything we do.

Milestones Worth Celebrating

2024 was marked by groundbreaking achievements:

• Career Workshop Success: In partnership with Gorrissen Federspiel and the British Chamber of Commerce in Denmark (BCCD), we hosted our first-ever career workshop. The results speak volumes about the power of collaboration—12 out of 15 participants have secured employment in Denmark. This accomplishment underscores the impact of targeted support and mentorship for professionals of color navigating new career landscapes.

• Men's Health Awareness Event: Collaborating with Maersk, we co-hosted a Men’s Health event focusing on prostate cancer awareness. Tackling critical health topics is central to our holistic approach to community well-being, and this event exemplified the strength of meaningful partnerships.

• Community Celebrations: To round off the year, we joined hands with ProWoc for a joyous Christmas party—a celebration of diversity, resilience, and unity.

Building Connections Through Monthly Meetups

Throughout the year, we hosted eight enriching monthly meetups covering a wide array of topics:

• High Blood Pressure Awareness with Dr. Rahma Elmahdi

• Leadership & Navigating the Workplace with Ade Adeluwoye

• Networking Socials at Dexter's & Geyser Bar

• Investment Strategies with Omar Shaikh

• Digital Branding with Casper Emil Sciuto Rouchmann

• Navigating Danish Taxes with Deniz Patilovski

These gatherings not only provided valuable insights but also reinforced our commitment to building a supportive and thriving community.

A Year of Partnerships and Advocacy

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizations that welcomed us into their spaces and partnered with us, including Gorrissen Federspiel, Copenhagen School of Technology & Design (KEA), The Copenhagen Post, Maersk, Templafy, TechBBQ, ProWoc, and Simcorp. Their support helped us create impactful experiences for our members.

Our board members represented BPoC at various conferences and events, participating as panelists and speakers, amplifying our voice, and advocating for diversity and inclusion. These opportunities have been pivotal in positioning BPoC as a trusted partner in promoting equity within professional spaces.

As we look to the future, we remain steadfast in our mission to empower professionals of color through mentorship, networking, and community building. The successes of 2024 are a testament to what we can achieve together, and we are excited to continue this journey of growth and collaboration.
